(AP) -- A Norton Shores hunter died after accidentally setting his clothes on fire while lighting his pipe, the Oceana County Sheriff's Department said. Michael George, 38, suffered second- and third-degree burns over 90 percent of his body about 1:30 p.m. Saturday. He died that night at a Grand Rapids hospital, The Muskegon Chronicle reported. George was wearing a type of camouflage garment made from burlap over his clothing. "He attempted to light his pipe, and his suit ignited," Deputy Shane Hasty said. George was alone in an area northwest of Hesperia when his clothing caught fire. Two witnesses saw him coming out of the woods about 2 p.m. carrying his gun, with his clothing burned off and calling for help. George had gone hunting with a friend, but they had last seen each other about 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Hasty said.
